Bits and Pieces

I vaguely recall saying something about how it was annoying that so many people were latching onto blogger, simply because they weren't aware of any other options. Now there are so many blogs of family members that look exactly the same. I, for one, would want a signature layout...something to establish my individuality (however lame that may sound, it's too true to ignore).
So I did a little research, and I've put together the following information, which I will title:

Not that I think I'm capable of giving anything that could be called "advice"...God I hate that word.

1. FIND SOMETHING NEW. Almost everyone has a blogger account. Do something different. May I suggest the following sites. I haven't used them, myself, so there may be a feature or two difference among them, but it's worth it to look different.
To name a few. You can easily do a google search for more stuff.

2. IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE BLOGGER, CUSTOMIZE YOUR TEMPLATE. Don't settle for the default templates. And certainly don't persuade yourself to ignore the the annoying navbar and blogger button that rape your website, because you don't NEED THEM.

To get rid of the navbar, follow these simple instructions:
Click the TEMPLATE button. Scroll down to
/* Footer ----------------------------------------------- */

Below this section, there should be something that reads "/head" and "body"...both enclosed by <> those thingies. I can't add the raw code otherwise my post swallows it.

Use your thrifty fingers and insert so that it looks like this:

To get rid of the Blogger button, follow these instructions:
Find the code that's highlighted in the following screenshot:

DELETE IT. Yes, all of it.
Viola. Sayonara annoying blogger associates.

Maybe I'll waste time typing out the rest of my tips later. Cheerio.

Good work, Flo. That damn thing shall be destroyed.

Besides that, I tried changing my template, it came out, well, different.

Hey, do you know how to add a banner to the blog?

Gio: I must know, otherwise I would not have a banner.
Das: I knew you would be. It's people like you who can do as you please.
Ambie: I love you too!!!

How about you get real original and unique and design/code your blog from the ground up.

That's singularity.

I did this once, with the first crooked site.
And I called it a class in singularity.

Haha you go Laura! Honestly though Flo, its great that you want everyone to be original, but some people just really don't care or they have a thing called, "lack of time".
It's what you say and do anyways..who care's how you look?

Screw the laundry. I bothered.
Ok, Flo. Minimal orignality. I didn't do much, so head on over and see if you can detect a difference. There ARE changes.
I AM orignal. Even if my template isn't.
Your instructions were helpful.

unfortunately your association to blogger comes back painfully when you simply clik on who is florence and elaina profiles...

been blogging Since 2002, and it's been a real pain having to make it ground up. It's heaps waste of time so I totally understand the peeps that just want a nasty ol template to just be original in the content.
In the end all these free template journals are going to be saturated to the high heavens from people you know and don't know..So I wouldn't be too worried about being original unless all your friends had the exact same color scheme,.. you do also want to be with the same name, it's much easier to be linked, comment and be associated with your friends. For instance in live journal you can make your posts available to just your friends. ...this is when you'd want people to sign up at the same place as you. That's my 2 cents anyway :)
Other then that..the tips to take the 'blogger' off is I'm sure, helpful. Thank you!

About a shorter url, I got one. Don't like it.
It's so orignal that nobody would ever remember it.
I'll stick with my long one. It's easier to remember, and for crying out loud, everyone knows blogspot.com.
The world will thank me when you see the short one:

Good one, Aich, I knew it was too good to be true. I'll stick with uni.cc
